The Certified Master Electrical Code Professional® — CMECP® has always been about helping Master Electricians take their knowledge beyond minimum licensing requirements.
Now, we’re taking that mission much further.
CMECP® now offers two distinct professional certification paths, plus a special advancement program for licensed Journeyman Electricians working toward the Master level.
🏢 PATH 1 — CMECP® CERTIFIED CONTRACTOR
Designed for established electrical contracting companies that want to certify the company, develop their workforce, and demonstrate a higher professional standard.
To qualify:
✅ The electrical contractor must have been in business for at least 12 months
✅ The company must be owned by a Master Electrician or Equivalent
✅ The qualifying Master Electrician must successfully complete the CMECP® training and certification process
The $3,975 CMECP® Certified Contractor Program includes:
⚡ Company-level CMECP® certification
⚡ Four months of advanced CMECP® training
⚡ Four (4) CMECP® Certified Technician course enrollments for qualified team members
⚡ Certified Thermal Imaging Course
⚡ TradeHog Mobile for CMECP® Professionals
⚡ Advanced training, examinations, technical review, and professional development resources
⚡ Additional exclusive CMECP® Contractor benefits
Those four technician enrollments are a major part of the program—but they are training opportunities, not automatic certifications.
Every technician must independently qualify as a Master Electrician or Equivalent and successfully complete all CMECP® Certified Technician requirements before earning the designation.
Certify the Company. Train the Team. Raise the Standard.
Annual CMECP® Certified Contractor renewal is $595, which also includes the applicable renewal of active CMECP® Certified Technicians maintained under that contractor’s program.
👷 PATH 2 — CMECP® CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
This is our standalone advanced Master Electrician Certification path.
You do not have to work for a CMECP® Certified Contractor to participate.
Any qualified Master Electrician or Equivalent may apply directly.
The $995 CMECP® Certified Technician Program includes four months of advanced CMECP® training and the complete certification process.
Candidates must successfully complete:
✅ 19 CMECP® training units
✅ All competency examinations with the required passing scores
✅ A remotely proctored 100-question National Electrical Code® examination
✅ A technical lesson or essay
✅ CMECP® Review Board evaluation and approval
This designation is earned—not purchased.
Standalone CMECP® Certified Technician renewal is $150 annually.
⚡ CMECP® JOURNEYMAN PROGRAM — $1,475
We also created a pathway for licensed Journeyman Electricians or Equivalents who are serious about becoming Master Electricians.
Journeyman candidates receive 12 months to complete the advanced CMECP® educational program while working toward their Master Electrician license.
They must obtain their Master Electrician license or Equivalent within those 12 months.
If they successfully complete all 19 CMECP® training units and competency examinations, they do not have to start the standard Certified Technician training program over again after becoming a Master.
Instead, they can advance directly to the final certification stages:
⚡ CMECP® proctored examination
⚡ Technical lesson or essay
⚡ Review Board evaluation
⚡ Master Electrician credential verification
Successfully complete everything—including obtaining the Master Electrician license within 12 months—and the destination is:
🏆 CMECP® CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
The Journeyman Program is the pathway.
The Master Electrician license remains the requirement.
The CMECP® Certified Technician designation is the destination.

Over the next 2 weeks I will be contemplating NOT producing the 2026 Fast Trax Program and focusing my efforts on the CMECP® and CTE™ Programs. Just seems like everyone is competing for exam prep these days and I have just lost interest in continuing to develop these programs. We will see how the next few weeks goes.
Went out to eat to night and found this lfmc running to power the marquee. I have no words for it and how bad this is / looks.
As you know, we closely track the performance and usage of everything we develop. Based on the 2026 numbers, NECCHAT.COM simply has not seen the level of new-user activity or engagement we had hoped for.
Because of that, NECCHAT.COM will remain online and available for anyone who wants to continue using it, but we will no longer be actively investing significant time into updates, new features, or promotion of the forum.
This allows us to redirect those resources toward other developments within the company where we are seeing stronger demand and greater opportunity.
We appreciate everyone who has supported and used NECCHAT.COM, and you are absolutely welcome to continue using the forum moving forward.
I was wondering if I miss you summer webinar or if it got put on pause for the time being. I noticed that you typically tried do one every 3 months or so. That and I just got my 2026 code book and was ready to use it to follow along.
I went tonight with the wife to Walmart for the first time in 4 months. I went to the bathroom in the back and saw this. I don't know why the mirror is gone but makes me wonder if someone wired this mirror up with no box, mc connector or anything to protect the wires installation from the armor of the cable what is it like behind the other two mirrors that was not touched.
This is from the 2026 NEC Fast Trax Video series. It's just a free view for you members.
This forum now has a mobile app. In Android it should pop up and ask you if you want the app. On ioS devices (Apple) it's where you "share" your browser, in the ios based browser.
We are in talks right now to expand Fast Trax® Tube. Can't disclose the details but if things go as planned it will have a new overhauled look and mission. Stay Tuned!
