Well, a few months ago I was contacted by EC&M Magazine about possibly carrying on Mike Holts monthly articles, code questions of the day, and so forth. It was an honor to be recommend by Mike himself and for those who don't know, Mike Holt and myself are indeed good friends and have been for decades now. In fact, I appeared in his 2008 Series years ago and in 2007 won his Top Gun.
However, the demands are far more than just an monthly article, and its really just an exchange for ad space for my contribution and no monetary commitment discussed.
Sadly, with my Wife's health, the Academy's growth, and my Director position at Prysmian, I just can't commit to such a in-depth commitment.
However, we are meeting next week to see if there is anything I may be able to do to pick up a little of the slack for them in the coming months. We will see what happens.
Now, had this happened 20 years ago...things may have been vastly different but alas writing code articles, creating loads of illustrations necessary to make it work, and of course so many commitments I already have in my current plans at this stage of my career I just don't have the time.
Oh to turn back the clock....NAH...it's been a great ride nonetheless. I figured sharing this with my Fast Trax Family was appropriate.

I had to replace a mast on this houses service as a tree fell on the service connector. In the process I found that the gec going to the water meter was cooked and went into the basement to see what i had to do to replace it. Upon leaving i was putting on my boots and saw this. Hello Folks. Well, as much as I fight it this old dog has decided to change how the Fast Trax System works for the 2026 NEC.
The entire program will be 100% Video Based. I have mixed feelings about it and thr fact is I have to do either written or video, I just don't have time to do both. So, we have decided that due to the enormous popularity of Fast Trax Tube that video courses are the next step for us to go.
Yes, we are aware some folks won't like it and fact is you can't please everyone so we won't even try. The decisions have been made and the entire month of April will be dedicatef to about 400 videos.
So, they will be broken down into lessons that will be about 10-15 minutes each with timing cues where you pause the video, venture into your NEC, and then proceed with the lesson.
Here is the deal...this may be my last edition of the NEC and I have so much to share, explain, and motivate and it just seems that doing it in video is the best way to do it moving forward.
So in closing, some will find it exciting and others will cling into the "written" method but sadly I can't do both. So onward and upward as we have added 18TB of storage to our system to accommodate all these new videos. Many will also be interactive as well.
