What could possibly go wrong?
Yeah, this was from a video on Instagram by a manufacturer showing their crimp products. Yes, it was from China.
Oh... wow.... 😬⚡
Sometimes i'd like to wish its "ragebait" but sadly... its probably not...
I've seen this before. Upsized wire doesn't fit in the logs is another one
would that be a 110.3 violation? because they change the number the wire so it is no longer listed?
Rob Nickman im curious on this as well!
Hey Folks - In this case we have multiple issues, no less than 310.16 ampacity reduction due to reduced circular mils at termination. So, clearly the "reduction" in conductor sizing is an issue as well as 110.3(B) and 110.12. But also it appears to also be a copper to aluminum issue as well via 110.14. Now, that may be an assumption on my part as maybe that crimp is rated for such but highly unlikely due to the fact they willfully show a damaged conductor for the example.
Paul Abernathy I was so focused on the conductor itself going into the crimp, completely missed the copper to aluminum fact😅😬 even worse when you know it came from a manufactures channel, you'd think they would want to "look good" on camera by doing it correctly. maybe doing things wrong on purpose gets more attention these days.
Josh A. Yeah..Sadly they like the attention BUT really wish they would not promote the garbage. Sadly thats social media.
I also missed the copper to aluminum connection
